Doc Rivers Says The Clippers Players Didn’t Accept Paul George: “The Guys That Were There The Year Before Honestly Didn’t Accept At Least One Of The New Guys. I Thought They Accepted Kawhi.”

Doc Rivers and Paul George have engaged in a back and forth recently, even though they have claimed there is nothing going on between them. Well, their exchange hasn’t stopped and River has now claimed PG wasn’t welcome by the rest of the Clippers when he arrived from Oklahoma City Thunder last year.

It all started when George claimed Rivers didn’t use him the right way last season while also trying to put the blame on the coach for not making the right adjustments during the Clippers’ collapse against the Denver Nuggets last season.

“We lost. But during that whole process, we never worked on adjustments,” George said. “We never worked on what to do differently. We just literally having the same s–t happen over and over again.”

Rivers fired back at George, saying that his new head coach, Tyronn Lue, was sitting next to Rivers last season so if he wanted to see major changes, that was not going to happen.

“Hey listen, I enjoyed coaching him. So not a lot to say there. Ty Lue was sitting right next to me. So he better hope it’s not adjustments. It ain’t going to be much different. Listen, we lost the game and I think everybody needs to take ownership. Obviously, we can always do better. Players can play better. As far as I’m concerned, I’ll leave it there.

After that, PG cleared the air and revealed he was the one to blame after blowing a 3-1 lead in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs, taking full responsibility for that.

“I’m the one who blew the 3-1 lead, not Doc. I take full responsibility for it. It haunts me every night. I respect Doc.”

It looks like Rivers wasn’t done just yet, as he recently charged against George again, saying that the Clippers did accept Kawhi Leonard as their new teammate but he couldn’t say the same about PG and his talents.

“The guys that were there the year before honestly didn’t accept at least one of the new guys. I thought they accepted Kawhi.”

These two have a history together. George cheated on Doc Rivers’ daughter a couple of years ago and even though people believed they had left that in the past, things are getting heated between them, too. To be fair, several reports suggest Paul George wasn’t seen with the same eyes as Kawhi Leonard on the Clippers and that caused some problems in the locker room. Rivers apparently knew that, too, and he’s letting everybody know now.
