Donovan Mitchell returned to Utah for the first time since his blockbuster trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The shooting guard put up a show, dropping 46 points on his former team, but the Cavaliers couldn’t keep up against the Jazz and lost a close game, 116-114.

It was a great night for Mitchell despite the loss, as he once again went off for a 40+ point game after dropping 71 a couple of days ago and receiving an incredible video tribute and welcome from his first team in the NBA

During the match, he was on one, dominating rivals, putting up a show, and trying to lead his new team to the promised land. It was a big duel that the Cavs couldn’t win, but Mitchell wasn’t so mad about it afterward.

Donovan Mitchell Had A Great Game Against His Former Team

In fact, the entire team was in good spirits despite the loss, and once they made it to the locker room, the entire squad started messing with Mitchell. While he talked to reporters, Cavaliers teammates started singing and acting extra, with Mitchell giving a hilarious response.

“Children, children, children…” Mitchell first said.

He then proceeded to answer his question but after things didn’t change, he told something else to his teammates.

“I’m watching y’all! I’m right here! Be professional!” He doubled down.

Then teammates started signing and Mitchell was struggling to keep it together. Somebody threw a bottle of water and he caught it, seemingly ending the hilarious situation. But again, things got a little out of control in the locker room.

Mitchell has been really happy on the Cavaliers, and proof of that is his incredible performances. The shooting guard has been on a tear recently and the Cavs are considered a competitive team in the East that could shock the world. They are young and talented and things have been going well for them. Even after this loss, they are ready to keep competing and show the rest of the NBA that they don’t need LeBron James to win something.
