Draymond Green is a unique player. Despite his contributions not lighting up in the box score, he’s one of the smartest players in the NBA.

It was quite interesting to see who he selected in his all-time NBA high-IQ starting lineup. The Golden State Warriors star shared his thoughts with Paul George in a recent episode of ‘Podcast with P.’

Draymond Green’s High-IQ Starting Five:

PG: Chris Paul

SG: Kobe Bryant

SF: LeBron James

PF: Draymond Green

C: Nikola Jokic

On the other hand, Paul George decided to select more ‘old school’ type of players for his starting lineup.

Paul George’s High-IQ Starting Five:

PG: Rajon Rondo

SG: Manu Ginobili

SF: Larry Bird

PF: Tim Duncan

C: Marc Gasol

Green and George’s starting five are blessed in terms of having high-IQ basketball players. Draymond was intrigued by George’s choice of keeping Rondo as his point guard. Other than that, picking Kobe and LeBron was a no-brainer choice for Green. In return, PG13 picked Ginobili and Bird.

At the power forward position, Green picked himself. However, the Warriors veteran paid respect to Kevin Garnett for being an incredibly smart player as well. On the other hand, George picked Duncan at the 4 position in his lineup. Draymond wanted to keep Duncan as the center for his time but went with Jokic. Paul George thought for a few seconds before picking former NBA player Marc Gasol as his center.

Both teams feature some of the smartest players in NBA history, but in a hypothetical matchup between the two teams, Green’s team would most likely win. After all, having Kobe and LeBron on the same team will give them an edge.

Draymond Green Will Return To The Warriors

Draymond Green finished the 2022-23 NBA season with 8.5 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 6.8 APG in 73 games. He was the defensive anchor of the team as he finished fourth in the 2023 NBA Defensive Player of the Year race.

At 33, Green proved that he still has a lot left in his tank. Many believed the four-time NBA champion would take his talents elsewhere after opting out of his $27.6 player option. Green beat those allegations by signing a four-year $100 million contract with the Warriors.

Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors will focus on winning another NBA Championship after getting eliminated in six games by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2023 Western Conference Semifinals.
