The New York Knicks have some of the most passionate fans in the BA riding for their team, willing to do whatever is necessary to egg their team on to victory in the crowd. The best example of this came in the 2021 playoffs, as Knicks fans started a rivalry with Trae Young as the Hawks eliminated them.

Young was talking to Draymond Green about that experience on a live edition of his podcast. Green attacked Knicks fans as a whole during the conversation.

“New York Knicks fans are f***ing delusional and miserable. And I love New York so don’t ban me from y’all city. But they’re hard. They’re a hard fan base.”

Green did give kudos to the fanbase, and it doesn’t seem like he’s taking a negative tone against them. It’s true that fans of the Knicks ride harder for their team than almost any other fanbase in the league. Green is simply appreciating them for that, though calling them delusional and miserable may ruffle the wrong feathers.

The Knicks Have A Season Of Excitement Ahead

Not many New York Knicks fans would’ve pegged the team to make it to the second round at the start of the season where the only major addition to a roster that missed the playoffs was Jalen Brunson. Thankfully, that addition made the Knicks a very competitive team in the East. Brunson used his playoff experience to out-duel the Cleveland Cavaliers and put up a fight against eventual finalists, the Miami Heat.

With Brunson coming off a playoff run where he averaged 27.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.6 assists, fans should be excited about what could be next with the young guard as their primary ball-handler. The team will look around the trade market to make moves to further solidify their roster and possibly start moving toward title contention soon.
