Wednesday night showed us very clearly that Draymond Green is persona non-grata in Boston after his antics during Games 1 and 2 of the 2022 NBA Finals. The Golden State Warriors big man has earned a big reputation around the league, and he’s lived up to that during this series, trying to get under his rivals’ skin, and becoming a very annoying player.
All the things he did during the first two matches of the series granted him a hostile welcome in Boston, with Celtics fans dropping F-bombs at him from the start until the beginning of Game 3. Besides the Celtics taking the win behind a great night from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Green had a terrible night, fouling out of the game and having a horrendous statline.
After the game was over, he admitted that he played terribly, but didn’t forget about the things he was told at TD Garden. During his infamous podcast, the 3x NBA champion opened up on the fact that his sons heard the chants that Celtics fans dedicated him while responding to those people.
"F— Draymond! F— you, too."

“5-year-old, DJ. I’m raising a Warrior, no pun intended. I’m raising a man. I don’t make much of him hearing that or seeing that. So, for me, I don’t make much of it. My baby girl, she probably can’t make out what they’re saying, and then for DJ, who can… This is what it is. This is what you got. Like I said before, he said he was going to be a coach, maybe that’s you one day that they’re yelling at like that. But you see your dad go through it, and we’re ok… Yes my family is livid, and trust me I get it. But for me, who’s raising a young black man in America, for him to understand how America works, as opposed to how they say America works, that was just another example of it. ‘F**K DRAYMOND! F**K DRAYMOND’. F**k you too.”
This is not the first time Draymond has gone through these situations, and he’s learned how to cope with them. Championships and experiences have made him who he is right now and people dropping F-bombs at him is nothing new. The former Defensive Player of the Year is ready to take all of that, and trying to help his son handle with that too.
