The Boston Celtics keep demonstrating they aren’t a fluke and will do anything in their hands to win the 2022 NBA championship. The C’s bounced back after a blowout loss against the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the Finals, giving the Dubs a taste of their own medicine, demolishing them on Wednesday night.

Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and co. led the Celtics to a big win against a Warriors team that had no response for their defense. The situation doesn’t look very promising for the Dubs, but they are still confident they can turn things around and win their 4th title in six trips to the Finals.

Klay Thompson had a solid night, dropping 25 points on the Green, seemingly recovering his best form. However, that wasn’t enough to help his team get the win. Still, the Splash Brother isn’t too bothered by that. Following the game, he stated that the Warriors have been in this situation before, comparing this series to the 2015 Finals, where they faced the Cleveland Cavaliers:

“Just being down 2-1 in a championship series,” Thompson said, via CJ Peterson of Sports Illustrated. “We’ve been in this situation before. I’m getting big 2015 vibes.”

Thompson then explained why he felt that way, saying that these Celtics have a similar playstyle to the Cavaliers:

“Being down 2-1 and they play a similar style. A lot of 1-on-1, attacking downhill, spreading the court with really good shooters. That’s very similar,” Thompson said. “They have some very good players on their team, obviously. I don’t think they have LeBron James, but they do have some All-NBA guys in Tatum. Jaylen Brown is knocking on the door.”

The Celtics surprised everyone this season. They didn’t land with many expectations before opening night, but things started to get better for them every week. When they had a terrible record, nobody thought they could even make it to the playoffs, yet they are two wins away from winning their first NBA title since 2008.

The Warriors still have hope to overcome this situation, but things aren’t going to be that easy.
