Nikola Jokic has been absolutely fantastic in these playoffs and he gave the Los Angeles Lakers the business in Game 1.

Jokic finished the night with 34 points, 21 rebounds, 14 assists, and 2 blocks as the Denver Nuggets won 132-126 to take a 1-0 lead. Afterward, Dwight Howard hilariously stated only he can stop the Joker.

Dwight did take the Superman nickname during his time in the NBA, for those unaware, so this was pretty clever on his part. While he would get destroyed by Jokic now, Howard did help the Lakers slow him down when these teams met in the 2020 Western Conference Finals. The Serbian only averaged 21.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 5.0 APG, and 2.0 SPG in that series as the Lakers kept throwing big bodies at him in Dwight, JaVale McGee, and Anthony Davis.

They don’t have that luxury now, although Rui Hachimura did do a good job against Jokic in the fourth quarter. It remains to be seen though if he can keep that up for the rest of the series.

Dwight Howard Hilariously Called NBA Stars To Join Him In Taiwan

The lack of opportunities in the NBA led to Howard heading over to Taiwan to continue his professional basketball career and he’d love some company. He hilariously called playoff underperformers like James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson to come over.

“Jordan Poole, come on. Julius Randle, come on. Ben Simmons, come on, man. Nobody beating nobody,” Howard said. “Klay, you can slide down here too, my boy. Deandre Ayton, you and CP3, come on. KD, come on, KD. They talking ’bout him coming back to Houston, but I think this might be a better look, James Harden, come on down too, boy.”

Howard just seems to be having the time of his life in Taiwan. He tried to recruit Ja Morant to the country following his second gun incident and suggested Doc Rivers should come over too after he was fired by the Philadelphia 76ers. Unfortunately, for him, none of them are going to come, but hey, no harm in having some fun and trying.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
