During the prime of his career, Dwight Howard was one of the best players in the NBA. But no one knew that the 2020 NBA champion is an ordained minister who can officiate weddings.

Yes, the 37-year-old center recently posted multiple pictures and videos from a wedding he officiated in Spain. Dwight shared the special moment on his official Instagram account.

“Took a trip out to Spain to officiate another wedding. Man it’s no feeling better than seeing two people come together and unite in Love,” Howard wrote.

The 6’10” center officiated the wedding of London Wilmot and Pure. The couple looked extremely happy to have the former NBA player officiate their wedding. It seems like Howard has found a new job after last playing in the NBA during the 2021-22 season.

Dwight Howard Wants To Return To The NBA

In the 2022-23 season, Dwight Howard played for the Taoyuan Leopards. While Howard had a great time playing in Taiwan, he still wants to play in the NBA.

Howard last donned an NBA team’s jersey during the 2021-22 season when he was part of the Los Angeles Lakers. He averaged 6.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 60 games. Dwight is eyeing a return to the NBA and wants to play for the Lakers again.

He was part of the Lakers roster that won the NBA Championship in 2020. Speaking of the team, the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year award winner believes it should have been kept together.

“We had the championship run there and I wish we would’ve had a chance to keep going because that was the squad right there. We had everything.”

As of now, the Lakers haven’t shown any interest in signing him again. The Lakers’ stance may change as the 2023-24 season starts, and they get a better understanding of what they need to improve on their roster.
