Kevin Durant instantly became the biggest story in the NBA when he requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets exactly one week ago, sending the league into a frenzy with his decision. Initially, many believed that the other 29 teams would fight for KD’s services, but seeing the Nets’ asking price for Durant, things have been a little different now.
This would be the third time KD changes teams and the second he does it after not winning a ring. It happened first in Oklahoma City, where he only played in one Finals before joining the Golden State Warriors. With the Dubs, he became a 2x NBA champion and 2x Finals MVP but still decided to join the Nets in 2019.
Now, he’s looking for another challenge after a tumultuous 2021/22 NBA season where he was the most consistent player for his team. After the news of his trade request surfaced, many fans and analysts criticized KD for his lack of commitment to the Nets, who did everything they could to keep him happy.
Fox Sports analyst Emmanuel Acho recently made a rather interesting comparison between Durant and Hollywood actress Halle Berry, saying that whenever you get into a relationship with each of them, you have to be prepared for it to end fast.

“Kevin Durant is looking real Halle Berry,” Acho said. “Halle Berry looks great. Halle Berry won an Oscar for best actress. Halle Berry, incredibly talented, but if you get into a relationship with Halle Berry, it’s probably not going to last long. That’s not any indictment on the appeal of Halle Berry, that’s no indictment on the appeal of Kevin Durant. That’s no indictment on the talent of Halle Berry. No indictment on the talent of Kevin Durant, two NBA Finals MVP awards. But, what you know based upon Halle’s track record relationship and Kevin Durant’s track record relationship. If you get into a relationship with Halle, just like if you get into a relationship with Kevin Durant, it’s probably not going to last very long.”
Everybody has something to say about Kevin Durant, and the comparisons haven’t stopped. Acho went in and trashed the veteran forward, who has reportedly ‘gone dark’, trying to let the Nets handle this situation and make the best decision for every party involved.
Several teams have been linked with a move for KD, including the Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, and even the New Orleans Pelicans. Durant will demand a huge return for the Nets, which is why we’re yet to see where he’ll play next. This saga is just starting, and things look more interesting by the day.
