Enes Kanter Freedom’s Brother Claps Back At Kendrick Perkins For Making Fun Of Freedom: “He Would’ve Put 50 On Your Head. Matter Of Fact, You Wouldn’t Be Able To Last In The Modern NBA With Your Slow A** Feet.”

2 Min Read

Making fun of people in the NBA comes at a cost. Especially in this modern era, where fans and players can interact with each other directly through the advent of social media. Social media can become the hub of vocal criticism. But sometimes players, or even their family members, can come back and put you down for that criticism.

That is exactly what happened to former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins. Perkins put out a Tweet poking fun at Enes Kanter Freedom’s name and pointing to the fact that Joel Embiid dominated him. Freedom’s brother Kerem Kanter clapped back at Perkins, saying that Freedom would drop 50 on Perkins.

Perkins: Joel Embiid was singing let freedom ring as he was giving Enes Freedom that 41 special in Boston tonight! God bless America…

Kerem Kanter: He would’ve put 50 on your head. Matter of fact you wouldn’t be able to last in the modern NBA with them slow a** feet

Perkins is yet to respond, and there is no suggestion that he will.

Some fans would counter Kanter’s point by saying that he has no authority to tell Perkins that he wouldn’t last in the modern NBA, given that he himself has not made it to the NBA, and went undrafted. Whereas Perkins became an NBA champion with the Celtics, his brother’s current team.

But Kerem is not the only person to have had issues with Perkins in the past. Several former and current NBA players have voiced their displeasure over Perkins’ comments, including the likes of Kevin Durant, among others. Even non-basketball entities like rapper Quavo have confronted Perkins and had issues with him.

Kanter Freedom himself is yet to respond, and might not feel the need to. Especially since his brother stuck up for him. But perhaps Freedom’s name change is not working out the way he had hoped.
