A new chapter in the long, messy saga between Brittany Renner and Dallas Mavericks forward PJ Washington went viral this week after a heated custody exchange spiraled into insults and crude remarks.

The video begins with Renner handing over their four-year-old son to Washington. The child starts crying, prompting Renner to declare that she will record “every single time” her son reacts this way during custody swaps. She calls out Washington for not spending enough quality time with their child, pressing him to “show up” beyond the bare minimum.

As the tension escalates, Washington ushers his son toward the car while Renner’s mother steps in. That’s when the confrontation takes a shocking turn. Washington, visibly frustrated, tells Renner’s mother to “suck my d**k.”

Her reply, caught on camera, stunned viewers: “If I had one, I would.”

The exchange quickly blew up on social media, igniting debates about parenting, respect, and the hazards of turning personal disputes into public spectacles.

This latest clash is only the tip of the iceberg in a relationship that has played out under intense scrutiny since the two first got together in 2019. After welcoming their son in 2021, the couple split just months later, with Washington accusing Renner of faking her affection and Renner insisting her intentions were genuine.

Internet chatter labeled Washington as being “trapped,” fueled by false rumors that Renner received $200,000 a month in child support. Over the years, Renner has faced backlash for the six-year age gap between her and Washington, as well as her candid public persona.

Washington, meanwhile, has rebuilt his personal life, marrying model Alisah Chanel and welcoming another child. While both have spoken at different times about finding balance as co-parents, their disputes often bubble back into the spotlight.

The September 2025 custody incident marks the ugliest public moment yet. Fans online were split: some empathized with Renner, arguing she was defending her son, while others blasted the spectacle as damaging for the child caught in the middle. Washington, who now plays for the Dallas Mavericks, has not issued a public response.

At its core, this is a familiar story of a once-promising romance turned bitter co-parenting battle, amplified by cameras and social media. With both sides still exchanging barbs years after their breakup, the hope remains that the focus eventually shifts from viral moments to providing stability for their son.
