Famous Doctor Reveals The Best And The Worst Case Scenario For Giannis Antetokounmpo

3 Min Read

Giannis Antetokounmpo set the alarms for the Milwaukee Bucks and the rest of the NBA when he went down with a knee injury. It’s unclear what kind he suffered after challenging a Clint Capela basket. Still, everybody is worried that this could be the end of Antetokounmpo’s season.

One famous physiotherapist and injury analyst offered some early diagnosis on Giannis’ knee and what this could mean for the player and his team. As the rest of us, Brian Seeney watched Wednesday’s night game where the Atlanta Hawks dominated the Milwaukee Bucks even with Trae Young sidelined.

The most shocking moment of the night involved the Greek Freak, who couldn’t continue in the game after hyperextending his left knee.

Seeney explained the best and worst cases for the 2x NBA MVP, and the diagnoses weren’t promising.

In the NBA, Giannis Antetokounmpo off with knee hyperextension injury. Unfortunately brings many possibilities.

Best case: bone bruise, PCL/capsular sprain

Worst case: ACL injury

Hope for best case but concerned w significant hyperextension movement.

When somebody tried to dig deeper and see how much time he would miss if things weren’t that serious, Seeney said something that didn’t please Bucks’ fans.

If he gets away with just a bone bruise or capsular sprain, maybe very best case 10-14 days. But that’s a thank your lucky stars situation. Often 3-4 weeks even for a deep bone bruise like that

This is a terrible situation for Giannis. When he looked ready to lead his team to the championship, his body betrays him. The Hawks tied the series 2-2 and even though they’re headed back to Milwaukee for Game 5, the Bucks must be really worried about their superstar.

If the ECF goes to seven games, the NBA Finals will star on July 8. Perhaps that doesn’t sound so bad for the Bucks and they can have Giannis back in Game 2 or 3 of that series. However, there’s still a chance that his injury is worse than that, and we don’t see him until next season.
