The Los Angeles Lakers will be headed to Memphis in Game 5 armed with a 3-1 series lead after winning an OT thriller 111-117 over the Memphis Grizzlies.

In a game where a lot of things went wrong for the Lakers, they persevered and managed to outlast the Grizzlies in a game they forced into OT with a LeBron James layup with 0.8 seconds left. James would also hit a game-clinching layup at the end of OT to seal the win. Fans were overjoyed at seeing the Lakers take a 3-1 lead.

One fan wanted everyone to give D’Angelo Russell his flowers for hitting clutch threes in the fourth quarter to keep the Lakers in the contest.

LeBron made history by picking up a 20-point 20-rebound game.

James got to score the game-clinching bucket in OT over Dillon Brooks after already hitting the shot that sent the game to OT.

That moment had to be satisfying for LeBron, as noted author Shea Serrano put it after the win.

Analyst Nick Wright was amazed by how LeBron performed in the fourth and OT after struggling to get a rhythm the entire game.

Seeing LeBron deliver when the team needed him most made fans extremely happy.

Bill Simmons remarked on Anthony Davis’s disappearing act for most of the game.

Anthony Davis had a tough offensive night with just 12 points after struggling to score until the fourth quarter and OT. LeBron James was also surprisingly passive but ended the game with 22 points and 20 rebounds. Austin Reaves led LA in scoring with 23.

Desmond Bane scored 36 while Ja Morant had 19 in a game that didn’t go the way the Grizzlies wanted it to go.

Is The Series Over?

There are still 3 games left to be played but Memphis needs to ensure they can win every single remaining contest. Given the experience of the Lakers core and the success they’ve had through the first four games, it’s hard to think that Memphis can win out and steal the series in seven. Stranger things have happened, but the Lakers will be motivated to advance to the second round and get some rest.

The Grizzlies have many roster issues with the injuries that have eviscerated their frontline. Ja Morant’s on-court struggle after an incredible Game 3 performance was evident. The Grizz needed to capitalize on the slow performances from LeBron and AD to steal this game and take it back to Memphis as a tied 2-2 series.
