The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Memphis Grizzlies in an elimination Game 5 for the Grizz, where they responded and beat the Lakers 99-116 to stretch it to a Game 6.

The Lakers had an incredibly slow start, trailing by 14 at the end of the first quarter. They tried coming back throughout the game, but the Grizz kept enough of a distance to win. Fans had a lot to share after the contest was over.

LeBron James’ had arguably his worst playoff game since 2011 and fans were shocked.

The Lakers’ rotational decisions were flat-out bad and were a massive reason why they couldn’t match up with the Grizz.

Lakers fans asked for Darvin Ham to be fired.

One fan got extremely emotional about Darvin Ham and had very strong words against his coaching tonight.

The bad rotational decisions continued to be a spotlight, especially when the Lakers would make substitutions during runs where they cut the game down to one or two points.

The calmness of LeBron and AD after the game has given some fans comfort about them closing the series out in LA.

Skip Bayless recognized that the Lakers won’t want to be back in Memphis for Game 7, so LeBron needs to finish them off in Game 6.

The Grizzlies’ backcourt shined as Desmond Bane had 33 points with 10 rebounds, while Ja Morant had 31 points with 10 rebounds. Anthony Davis bounced back from a dismal Game 4 performance with 31 points and 19 rebounds, while LeBron James had a shockingly bad 15-point performance on 29.4% shooting from the field.

Will We See A Game 7?

The Grizzlies will go back to LA for Game 6, the final game on LA’s home floor. It’s imperative that they close the series out then and don’t fall into the danger zone of blowing a 3-1 lead. LeBron has experience with overcoming those but never in his career has he blown one of those. His lack of aggression at the start hampered the team, as James couldn’t find his offensive rhythm.

We have seen the most passive playoff version of LeBron ever, with him averaging just 22.2 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists through 5 games with a shocking 3-point percentage of 16.7%.

He is one of the most dominant playoff performers of all time. If they want to have success, they need to see him come into Game 6 and tell his teammates that he will ensure they qualify. Otherwise, a Game 7 in Memphis may be too big of a challenge for the Lakers.
