Giannis Antetokounmpo took a hard hit in Game 4, catching the body of a Hawks player on his leg and hyperextending his left knee.

It was a truly ugly turn of events that had all of the NBA world holding their breath. While the Bucks failed to disclose much publicly (for now), there is apparently some worry behind the scenes that the 2x MVP may have just suffered a more major injury…

As Farbod Esnaashari reported on Twitter, nothing is yet confirmed and any feelings of fear by the Bucks are nothing more than emotion at this point…

ACL injuries are obviously some of the worst in sports, and the hit on Giannis’ knee definitely doesn’t look good.

The period between the injury and MRI confirmation is always a rough one for the NBA community, especially when it’s a star of Giannis’ caliber going down in the Conference Finals.

In what may be Milwaukee’s best chance to win a title, the Bucks are still going to need their star if they want to bring the Chip home. Without Antetokounmpo, there is;t much hope they get past the current round.

Nonetheless, hope remains that the injury is minor and that we will see Giannis return at some point soon.
