  • Former NFL defensive back Richard Sherman will debate Skip Bayless on Undisputed
  • Richard Sherman hasn’t yet signed a contract, but the two sides have an agreement
  • This news comes “in the wake” of Shannon Sharpe leaving the show

The sports TV show Undisputed has historically been considered among the best in the country. Previously the show featured analyst Skip Bayless and former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe.

However, in the wake of Shannon Sharpe’s departure earlier in the year, it is clear that FOX needed to find someone to replace him. According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, the network has settled on Richard Sherman. He is also a former NFL player, and Sherman notably won a Superbowl with the Seattle Seahawks in 2013.

“Richard Sherman is joining FS1 to spar with Skip Bayless on “Undisputed” in the wake of Shannon Sharpe’s departure from the program, The Post has learned… Sherman’s FS1 contract is not signed yet, but an agreement is in place.”

Though no dynamic will quite replicate what Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe had, Richard Sherman will definitely be a solid debate partner for Bayless. Sherman is known for being outspoken, has plenty of sports knowledge, and is overall charismatic. Hopefully, the duo find success in the future.

Shannon Sharpe Previously Admitted That He Wasn’t Close With Skip Bayless

Even though the two had a great working partnership, it seems as though Shannon Sharpe was not necessarily close to Skip Bayless during their time on Undisputed. Sharpe noted that he’s a “homebody”, and wasn’t as close to Bayless as his former co-host Stephen A. Smith.

“We have a great working relationship,” Sharpe opined. “Skip and I are not as close as Skip and Stephen A. [Smith]… They did things together, they hung out together. I’m more of a homebody. I’m more of a loner. I’m to myself… Most of the time, it’s just me and my dogs in my home.”

There’s no doubt that co-workers don’t necessarily need to have a top-tier working relationship in order to do their jobs effectively. Though that can help, the focus should be on people staying on top of their responsibilities and the actual job. It is clear that Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless were able to deliver an amazing product when working together, and hopefully, Bayless and Richard Sherman can do the same in the future.
