Shannon Sharpe revealed that he and Skip Bayless aren’t close, and he has his reasons for it.

Both analysts who also work as co-hosts on ‘Undisputed’ had a snag in their relationship recently but eventually decided to sort out their differences. However, Sharpe did go on to say that he and Bayless aren’t necessarily close outside of the show.

Speaking on SiriusXM’s ‘The Adam Schein Podcast, “We had a bad two months,” Sharpe said when asked about his relationship with Bayless now. “I wasn’t gonna allow two bad months to ruin six years of a great working relationship.”

Sharpe didn’t divulge details about their beef, but his comments suggest that he was keen to mend the duo’s perfect working bond.

Per the New York Post, things came to a head between the two analysts earlier this year when Bayless garnered flak for a tweet regarding Bills safety Damar Hamlin.

Shannon Sharpe Says Skip Bayless And Stephen A. Smith Were Close

It’s worth noting that Bayless and Stephen A. Smith were co-hosts on ESPN’s ‘First Take’. They worked together from 2012-2016 before Bayless left to host ‘Undisputed’.

Speaking on the podcast, Sharpe explained the relationship between Bayless and Smith, while reiterating that he and his co-host weren’t tight outside of work.

“We have a great working relationship,” Sharpe opined. “Skip and I are not as close as Skip and Stephen A. [Smith] because Stephen A. came from the same background that Skip does. They did things together, they hung out together. I’m more of a homebody. I’m more of a loner. I’m to myself. If Skip likes you, Skip wants to hang out, he hangs out with Stephen A. … Most of the time, it’s just me and my dogs in my home.”

He also added that it helped that they had more professional ties as it massively helped their on-air relationship.

For now, it does appear that the pair have sorted things out, and that comes as good news for fans of the show. It remains to be seen if they hit stormy waters again, especially with Bayless being mighty vocal about his thoughts that’s earned him brickbats in the past.
