Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade have created one of the most powerful and beloved couples in the NBA. Even though Dwyane isn’t playing anymore, he remains an important figure around the league, especially now that he’s tried his luck as an analyst and also became a minority owner of the Utah Jazz.

Wade and Union are often seen traveling and enjoying themselves on social media, showing their big love and how cool they are despite all the years together. They have gone through a lot during their relationship, but now are looking stronger than ever, ready to keep adding happy moments to their life.

Union entered a new situation when she got together with Wade, as the Miami Heat legend had three kids from a previous relationship. This isn’t easy for anybody, and the actress wasn’t the exception, as she had to learn how to deal with this over the years.

Gabrielle Union’s Love For Dwyane Wade’s Kids Evolved Over The Years

Union is on HelloBeautiful’s February digital cover, where she had the chance to discuss certain details about her life and marriage. One of the topics of discussion included her role as a stepmom, which was a big thing for her at the beginning.

Gabrielle explained that she had to remember the way she was parented and tried to apply some of that to this situation. Wade had three kids, Zaire, Zaya, and Xavier, before he welcomed Kaavia with Union.

“So when I became a stepmom I was like, I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing,” she said, via People. “They have a mom, she’s alive. I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing, but like I’m here with them every day.”

It wasn’t an easy journey, but Gabrielle admits she needed to put in a big effort to reach the place she wanted to be in, and now things can’t be better between her and her stepchildren.

“I had to figure out how to be consistent and nurturing and compassionate and love for each of them. I knew that one size fits all was not gonna work,” she added.

The Wades have gone through a lot together, but all the issues they have faced along the way have brought them closer. This is a loving family and despite being incredibly famous, they remain humble and always invite their fans to know their lives, sometimes making them laugh and others raising some eyebrows. Either way, they always show their true side and that’s something hard to find right now.
