Giannis Antetokounmpo might be in the midst of his best season in the NBA and that is saying something. Giannis is averaging a career-high 31.8 PPG to go with 12.2 RPG, and 5.4 APG to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to the second-best record in the league, despite Khris Middleton missing much of the season.

He was averaging a ridiculous 37.2 PPG in the 11 games prior to his last outing against the Chicago Bulls, where he, unfortunately, suffered a wrist injury. Giannis has looked unstoppable at times this season and teams are running out of ideas when it comes to finding a way to slow him down.

During his media session for the All-Star game, Giannis was asked if there is anyone who can guard him 1-on-1 and he stated there is no such thing in his world.

“1-on-1? Come on, man. You got to build a wall man. Got to build a wall to stop me. They created the Giannis wall, Boston does it now, Chicago tried to do it, Miami did it… There’s no 1-on-1 in my world. There’s me playing against two guys, three guys, four guys. So, 1-on-1 isn’t my thing. It’s impossible.”

Building that wall is really the only thing that has worked to some extent in the playoffs. The Phoenix Suns had tried something different by having Deandre Ayton try to guard Antetokounmpo 1-on-1 in the 2021 NBA Finals and it did not end well for them.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Wants To Participate In The 3-Point Contest

For all his greatness, there is one obvious flaw in Giannis’ game and that is his shooting. He is a pretty terrible 3-point shooter and this season, he is shooting just 27.0% from beyond the arc.

Still, Giannis wants to participate in the 3-point contest at some point, as he says he doesn’t run away from challenges. While that is admirable, it clearly isn’t a great idea and he will probably end up performing even worse than Julius Randle did in this year’s contest, as the big man only had 13 points, which left his son in tears.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
