Giannis Antetokounmpo On Comparisons To Tim Duncan: “That’s A Tough One.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo has improved his level in every season he’s spent in the NBA. The Milwaukee Bucks superstar is one of the best players in the league right now, collecting individual and collective awards in Wisconsin, defying odds on the way to win MVP awards and the NBA championship.

Antetokounmpo is a terrific player and his consistency has earned him a lot of praise around the league. Recently, Kenyon Martin said he would be the next LeBron James in terms of being in the MVP conversation every season.

Moreover, Giannis’ style of play has also earned him comparisons with other all-time greats, especially San Antonio Spurs legend and arguably the greatest power forward of all time, Tim Duncan.

The Big Fundamental was a versatile player with a quiet personality that didn’t get too much attention, and even though Giannis is very outspoken, his humbleness and the fact that he’s leading a small-market team to play for important things have made people compare him to TD. Giannis, as usual, remains focused on the goal and almost avoids the comparisons.

“Tim Duncan? I don’t know,” Antetokounmpo told NBA.com “That’s a tough one.”

Even though he’s not trying to become this or that, more people believe the Greek player has many similarities with the 5x NBA champion.

“I see that as being right on point,” Bucks assistant coach Darvin Ham told NBA.com about Antetokounmpo becoming this generation’s version of Duncan. “He likes to have his fun, don’t get me wrong. But he’s not one of those guys that’s looking to bring a whole lot of nonsense or silliness where his name is being out there. He avoids the drama. He’s about his family and he’s a quiet-to-himself type of guy. He laughs and jokes with his teammates and does different things with his teammates. But outside of that, there’s no shenanigans. It’s straight business and focus.”

Giannis has earned a lot of recognition in recent times. The Greek Freak is doing everything to be successful in this league. Even after winning two NBA MVPs, the 2021 NBA championship and the Finals MVP, he’s still hungry, hoping to grab more silverware in the future.

TD retired from the games as one of the most honored players in history. Giannis is on the right track to tie and surpass the Spurs legend, and we’re here to watch him collect more awards in his already remarkable career.
