After a whole season of major ups and downs, the Golden State Warriors have put themselves in a position to defend their title but the path to victory will not be an easy one. After the Lakers won Game 3 in convincing fashion, the Dubs are facing a lot of pressure to step up today, and even the score at 2 wins a piece.

Specifically, the Warriors will need to hope for better production from Jordan Poole, who has been largely inconsistent in these playoffs. Speaking on his self-titled show, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas went so far as to suggest the Warriors should think about trading Poole after his performance in this series.

Poole brings value to the Warriors as a shooter and scorer off the bench, but his lapses in judgment and aggressiveness have raised some serious questions about his reliability in late-game situations. This year, his defense struggles have hit new highs and there are times when he’s a major liability to the Warriors.

So far, it hasn’t been enough to get in the way, but it’s hard to think about the Warriors winning two more rounds with Poole playing so inconsistently. The question is, would the Warriors really consider moving on from him?

Will Jordan Poole Stay With The Warriors This Summer?

As, perhaps, their most expendable asset, Jordan Poole is probably the easiest way that the Warriors could re-tool their roster and extend their title window around Curry, Klay, and Draymond.

Either way, Poole’s stats have seen a major dropoff from his 2022 playoff run and it’s played a major role in some of their losses against the Kings and Lakers. So if the opportunity arises, don’t be surprised to see GM Bob Myers think about making a risky move…

“Do opposing teams think they can build an offense around Jordan Poole? If they do, his trade value would be enough to anchor a blockbuster,” reported Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report.

Only time will tell how this latest chapter ends for the Warriors dynasty, but it will be interesting to keep an eye on the play of Poole and how these next few weeks determine his future with the franchise.
