Houston Rockets Head Coach Says They Will Not Trade James Harden

2 Min Read

Following the arrival of Stephen Silas in Houston to become the Rockets’ new head coach, several rumors have surfaced about the coach and his new team. Reports suggest James Harden wasn’t a fan of this hiring since he was Ty Lue or John Lucas to take the reins of the team. Instead, the team signed Silas, one of the most respected coaches around the league.

Chemistry will be crucial for this team if they want to succeed in this next campaign. The Rockets have been trying to reach the Finals for quite some time now and the clock is ticking for them.

James Harden has been linked with a possible trade to the Philadelphia 76ers since Daryl Morey was announced as the new president of basketball operations of the team and the name of Harden has been circling around the organization.

However, Stephen Silas himself replied to these rumors during a recent edition of ESPN’s First Take (0:49 mark).

“As far as James [Harden], he is our guy. In the interview process, I talked to both James and Russ and let them know that the reason I want this job is because of them. So I expect those guys to be here. I haven’t heard anything else to the contrary, so that’s how I feel about it and that’s how it’s gonna be.”

Harden is the go-to guy for the Rockets and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. The head coach knows the player is very important for them and he’ll try to take the most advantage of each other to try to take the Rockets to the top of the Western Conference and the NBA.
