Magic Johnson is unarguably one of the best players to ever play in the NBA. Additionally, he is considered to be the best point guard to grace the league with his presence.

During the prime of his career, watching Magic play was a beautiful sight for fans. He had a certain swag in his game and could make even the hardest passes look easy on the eyes.

On top of that, he helped the Los Angeles Lakers win five NBA Championships during the 1980s. Unfortunately, he was forced to retire from the league in 1991 due to contracting HIV.

It took him five years to make a return to the NBA as he was part of the Lakers roster for the 1995-1996 NBA season. Fans were obviously excited about his return, but it was clear that he wasn’t the same player that he was before his premature retirement.

He started just 9 games out of the total 32 games that he played for the Lakers. Following that, he bid farewell to the NBA for good. Although he was out of the NBA, Magic still had an eternal passion for the game of basketball.

It was provided when he bought a team in the Swedish League back in 1998. The team was named M7 Boras, and he even decided to play a few games for the franchise.

In the five games that he played for the franchise, he scored 30 points in a game, which was the biggest highlight of his time with the M7 Boras. As you would expect, Johnson still didn’t have enough stamina left to further prolong his career. After all, he was 40-year-old at the time.

Following Johnson’s departure, the team went bankrupt. That was the end of it for Magic’s adventure in Sweden. Speaking of that, there are many other NBA players that have played in the overseas leagues for a brief period of time during their careers.

To conclude his basketball career, Magic also tried his luck with the Danish team, The Great Danes. That was it for one of the best players to ever play the game of basketball.
