Isiah Thomas Says Kyle Lowry Is The ‘Best Leader’ In Raptors History

2 Min Read

The defending NBA Champions have seen a lot of great players, scorers, and leaders pass through their doors over the years. Names like Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Chris Bosh, DeMar DeRozan, and Kawhi Leonard have helped make the franchise one of the proudest and most storied in the entire NBA.

But it wasn’t any of them who were mentioned when NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas talked about the greatest leader in Raptors history. Instead, he picked 2019 Champion and 6x All-Star guard, Kyle Lowry.

Despite not being the best player to wear a Raptors jersey, he has been the heart and soul of the franchise since he arrived back in 2006. He has represented the Raptors at five All-Star games, has played over 500 games in a Raptor uniform, and has been a solid leader, teammate, and role-model for the team for the past eight years.

Helping them win a championship last season was only icing on the cake.

So, while Isiah’s comments may sound rather bold, they’re not exactly outlandish. After everything Lowry has done for the franchise, he deserves to be recognized among the top players in their history. And when it comes to leadership, he has shown what he is capable of.

We only have to see what else he can do with the time he has left in the NBA.
