James Harden is settling in quite well with the Philadelphia 76ers, not only is the team winning, but he also seems to be getting along exceptionally well with his teammates. There were videos of him teaching Joel Embiid his signature step-back during one of their first practice sessions together and the feeling around the franchise has improved drastically since the Beard landed in Philly.
A major plus point during this season for the Sixers is the emergence of Tyrese Maxey, who seems to be developing into a star in the league. Maxey’s scoring has improved leaps and bounds in what is just his second year in the league and he outscored his two superstar teammates on Friday night as they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers.
This led to Harden deciding to have a bit of fun at Embiid’s expense, tweeting a picture of Embiid and Maxey and suggesting that Tyrese scoring more is like when your little brother beats you at a game.

Maxey had 33 points in the game, a whole 11 more than Embiid. This isn’t likely to bother the big man too much, Joel is among the frontrunners for the MVP this season. He has also supported Maxey from the beginning of this season, encouraging him to shoot more and has clearly been instrumental in the exponential growth that the 21-year-old has shown.
Harden being this involved with the team in such a public manner is also an excellent sign for the 76ers as they aim to mount a serious challenge for the NBA title powered by their two superstars. Someone like Maxey going off in the playoffs would also be hugely beneficial to Philly, as Seth Curry’s departure has created a bit of a hole in the roster in terms of scoring outside their star players.
