Jason Kidd Punished The Entire Bucks Team Because Thon Maker Had An Android Phone That Caused A Group Chat Error

Jason Kidd is now the new head coach of the Dallas Mavericks. After a successful stint with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he won an NBA championship as an assistant coach, Kidd is returning to the franchise where he won his first and only NBA championship. This will be Kidd’s first head coaching job since his stint with the Milwaukee Bucks from 2014 to 2018.

During that time, he oversaw the growth and development of Giannis Antetokounmpo into a superstar. And while the Bucks improved greatly under his time, they eventually let him go to bring in Mike Budenholzer, a move that eventually brought the Bucks a championship.

Now Kidd will have another chance with the Dallas Mavericks. But if any member of the team has an Android phone, it would be best if they get a new phone. Mirin Fader, author of “Giannis: The Improbable Rise of an NBA MVP” recently revealed that Kidd punished the entire Bucks team because of an Android phone. Bucks player Thon Maker had an Android phone, which didn’t allow him to be on the team’s iMessage chat. Because of this, Kidd forced the entire team to run laps because he felt that Maker not buying an iPhone was a sign that the team was not a united group.

“At one point center Thon Maker didn’t have an iPhone, messing up the team’s blue-bubble iPhone group chat. Kidd was upset about it and made the team run because Kidd felt that Maker not getting an iPhone was an example of the team not being united.”

Clearly, Kidd runs a tight ship on a team he is the head coach for. And the players in Dallas will hopefully not have an Android. Regardless of his strict rules, Kidd is a fantastic coach and can help Luka Doncic and the rest of the team take the next step in their progression.
