Jay Williams called out former NBA star Charles Barkley for his comments on Kevin Durant and the modern-day players being too sensitive.
Speaking on ESPN’s First Take, “Charles Barkley on 60 Minutes, I love Uncle Chuck, that is my guy,” Williams began. “But when I hear him call our generation of players ‘sensitive,’ the only moment I’m going to have where I drop the mic is…Michael Jordan.
“The guy who could win through any situation,” he added. “The guy who was tougher than nails itself refuses to talk to Charles Barkley because of a criticism he had against him as it relates to being in ownership…maybe this is all players of all different generations who use criticism and sensitivities to motivate us to be better.”

Earlier, Barkley had dished out some harsh criticism on Durant, labeling him as a “sensitive” player. Great player. He’s part of that generation who thinks he can’t be criticized. He’s never looked in the mirror and said, ‘Man, is that a fair criticism?'”
Williams was quick to respond by referencing Barkley’s beef with Jordan. The former close friends, MJ and Barkley, haven’t been on good terms. While it may come off as extreme that Jordan took his personal grudge to a whole another level, Williams wasn’t one to miss a beat.
Charles Barkley Isn’t Going To Be The First One To Make The Move And Bury The Hatchet With Michael Jordan
As far as budging or blinking the eyes first goes, Barkley isn’t the man to do either. Recently, he expressed his feelings about the whole tiff with Jordan and refused to be the first one to break the hate.
“And what I said, I think that he doesn’t have enough people around him that are gonna tell him, ‘No.’ And he got really offended, and we haven’t spoken, he said. “I’m gonna do my job because I have zero credibility if I criticize other people in the same boat and not criticize my best friend… I got an ego too, John. You can be great at something, but that doesn’t give you the right to be a jerk… He got my number.”
There’s no denying that Barkley has the personality to be brutally honest and speak his mind. This makes it all the more believable that he wouldn’t be the one to make the reconciliatory move.
For now, it remains to be seen how he responds to Williams’ comments on his feud with Jordan.
