Jay Williams: “The Portland Trail Blazers Might Have A Chance To Beat The Lakers.”

1 Min Read

The Portland Trail Blazers have had a pretty rough season. Amid offseason changes and heartbreaking injuries, they’ve been unable to win games consistently.

And while they will have their chance to sneak into the playoffs in Orlando, nobody is giving them much of a chance to get very far, especially because they’d be facing the Lakers in the first round.

Jay Williams, however, admitted on First Take that he is actually giving the Blazers a chance to upset L.A. this year.

Unfortunately, Portland will have to be without Rodney Hood, who is still working his way back from an Achilles tear. The good news is, Zach Collins and Jusuf Nurkic are set to return and their presence should be a huge lift for the team.

Alongside Dame, CJ, and Carmelo Anthony, they have star power, depth, and the drive to exceed expectations this postseason.

Either way, it won’t be easy. The Lakers are the West’s top team and many of the Blazers players haven’t played together in months. It will be interesting to see if they have the chemistry and talent to shock the world.
