Jayson Tatum Is Confident That The Celtics Can Win The 2023 NBA Title: “Obviously, We Got Close, Got To Game 6 And We Didn’t Make It Happen, So This Offseason, Everything Is Just About Getting Back To That Point And Getting Over The Hump.”

Jayson Tatum and his Boston Celtics went from being a terrible team to going through the Eastern Conference and playing in the Finals, losing to the eventual 2022 NBA champions Golden State Warriors in six games. The young Celtics team was desperate to finally break through the ECF and play for the championship, and they finally made it last season.

Unfortunately, they weren’t able to win it all, but that’s not the end of the story for the C’s. Tatum recently showed his confidence in his team, claiming that they can be very dangerous next season after the interesting moves they’ve made so far.

JT believes they are better than last year, and the current group can go back to the Finals and become champíons. They were close last season, and the hunger is still there to try to get revenge and win the elusive 18th championship for the organization.

“What kind of competitor would I be if I said no?” Tatum said per NBC Sports Boston. “I always believe in myself and believe in my teammates.

“Obviously, we got close, got to Game 6 and we didn’t make it happen, so this offseason, everything is just about getting back to that point and getting over the hump. Obviously, we added two great pieces that I feel make us a lot better and complement our team extremely well.”

Amid rumors suggesting that Kevin Durant is a top target for the Celtics, Tatum isn’t paying much attention to that. The power forward is focused on doing the job with the team he has, and he’s not trying to push for any move or select favorites to join the team. Obviously, until something happens, the rumors will keep coming, but Tatum doesn’t entertain any of that.
