There are times when we have seen celebrities get their social media accounts targeted by hackers to use for their own nefarious goals. Unfortunately, that has happened recently in the NBA world.
Lakers governor Jeanie Buss has recently gotten her account hacked by an unknown party, with the hacker trying to scam people into buying fake PS5 listings from her account.
Most fans understood that it was actually Jeanie Buss trying to sell them video gaming consoles, but it seems as though Jeanie Buss wanted to make a PSA about her account. She utilized the Los Angeles Lakers Twitter account to reveal that her account was hacked and asked people to not engage with the user behind it and not to send out any money.

There is no doubt that this is a good gesture on Jeanie Buss’ part, and she clearly wants to make sure that nobody is getting scammed in the hopes of getting a video gaming console.
Hopefully, we see Jeanie Buss get her Twitter account back soon, but luckily this was caught relatively early and she can go through the proper channels to ensure that happens.
As of right now though, it is likely that Jeanie Buss is busy finding ways for the Los Angeles Lakers to improve ahead of next season. This season was clearly a disappointment, and the blockbuster trade to acquire Russell Westbrook did not work out for the team as planned. Jeanie Buss has already suggested that more moves remain to be made for the Lakers, and perhaps we’ll see them get back to the playoffs next year.
