The Miami Heat lost Game 3 against the Denver Nuggets, with a final score of 94-109. There’s no doubt that this was a poor outing for the team, and it is clear that they need to perform better to win the series.

After the game, Jimmy Butler opened up on the Miami Heat’s mentality going into Game 4. He noted that “more energy and effort” will be key, adding that this could have made Game 3 different.

“We feel great,” Butler said. “We didn’t play our best tonight. I feel like we just gotta come out with more energy and effort, and that’s correctable. That’s on us as a group. No X’s and O’s can fix that. So come out, dive on the floor, get loose balls, get defensive rebounds, and maybe, just maybe, it would’ve been a different game.”

The Miami Heat are a team that is built on hard work and effort, and it is clear that if their effort is lackluster, then they’ll have a tough time winning any game where that aspect of the game is subpar.

The Denver Nuggets are clearly the more talented team than the Miami Heat. However, the Heat clearly know how to play as the underdogs, and we’ll see if they can come out on top. They have already upset the Milwaukee Bucks, the New York Knicks, and the Boston Celtics, and they should never be counted out.

Erik Spoelstra Previously Compared The Miami Heat To Navy SEALs

Previously, we saw coach Erik Spoelstra compare the Miami Heat to Navy SEALs, noting that the whole team is “hard-wired to compete”. There’s no doubt that this sort of mentality and discipline is an advantage, as the team goes into every game ready to do their job.

“Our guys are hard-wired to compete. We’ve said this in each series… We feel like we’re Navy SEALs. Just drop us off in parachutes, let’s get ready to go compete. We’re playing against a great opponent that we have deep respect for. But it’s competition. We feel like they’re in our way.”

We will see if the Miami Heat are able to come out on top in this series, and defeating Nikola Jokic is a task easier said than done. The Miami Heat will make every game tough, though, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
