The Sacramento Kings have officially clinched the playoffs for the first time since the 2005-06 NBA season. But that doesn’t mean many expected the Kings to pull off the feat this season.
So much so that the crew of ‘NBA on ESPN’ featuring JJ Redick, Kendrick Perkins, Richard Jefferson, and Malika Andrews heavily disrespected the Kings at the start of the season. Now, with the NBA playoffs in sight, a fan made a Sacramento Kings’ ‘receipts’ video to clap back at them.

The video featured short clips of four NBA analysts mocking the team at the start of the season. But as the Kings proved everyone wrong, the analysts were forced to take back their comments or apologize.
Sure, the Kings weren’t expected to be this good in the 2022-23 NBA season, but ESPN’s analysts still had no right to disrespect the franchise. Either way, they are going to have a tough time when the playoffs start as the Kings are currently the third seed in the West, making them a legitimate contender to win the 2022-23 NBA Championship.
Sacramento Kings Fans Had To Wait 16 Years To See Their Team Win 40 Games In A Season
Missing playoffs is a part of being in the NBA for any team. But making it a habit can be excruciating for the fanbase of the said franchise. Well, there is no fanbase that understands that pain better than the Sacramento Kings.
After missing the postseason last year, the Kings created an NBA record by missing playoffs for 16 straight years. On a positive note, the organization made a stunning comeback in the 20220-23 NBA season, as they reached 40 wins a couple of weeks earlier.
The Kings’ fans couldn’t contain their excitement after seeing 40 dubs in the win column for their team for the first time in 16 years. As of now, the Kings have a 46-30 record and hold the third seed in the Western Conference.
Keeping that in mind, the Kings indeed deserve to be respected by the media and NBA fans.
