With the NBA 2022-23 season done, former NBA player-turned-analyst JJ Redick compiled the worst takes of the season, and in what shows a good sense of humor, he was part of the list.

Over time, the sport has been dominated by opinions, smart and absurd, logical and balderdash-y, all of which Redick made a note of. In a recent clip, he made a note of all the worst takes by some of his fellow analysts, and he even mocked himself in the process after calling the Phoenix Suns title contenders after the Kevin Durant trade.

Redick’s list left no one out as he roasted Skip Bayless, Stephen A. Smith, Ric Bucher, Chris Mannix, Colin Cowherd, Bill Simmons, Chandler Parsons, Taylor Rooks, Kendrick Perkins, Chris Broussard, and even NBA insiders Brian Windhorst and Dave McMenamin. Chris “Mad Dog” Russo made the list as well.

The exercise that Redick did goes on to show that no one is perfect with their opinions, but everyone has a right to put it out there. What the analysts could do is perhaps dish out smarter takes that make their credibility count climb up a notch or two.

JJ Redick Has Been Involved In Heated Debates With His Fellow Hosts

The previous season saw JJ Redick get on it with his hosts on air, namely Stephen A. Smith and Kendrick Perkins.

With Smith, it was an argument about LeBron James’ career that saw Redick question the ESPN analyst’s playing career. “You didn’t play, Stephen A,” Redick said. “You don’t understand our athletic mortality. Three games at wherever South Dakota Winston-Salem State doesn’t count.”

With Perkins, it was for his controversial take on Nikola Jokic’s MVP tussle with Joel Embiid. “What we just witnessed is the problem with this show,” Redick said. “We create narratives that do not exist in reality. What you’re implying is that the white voters that vote on NBA are racist, that they favor white people. You just said that. It’s exactly what you implied.”

As fiery as he can get sometimes, Redick is still one of the most-liked TV personalities. Now, his cred takes a lot more scores with his latest video that sees him take a shot at himself for the worst takes this past season.
