By all accounts, there seems to be a drift between Philly stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. After years of being teammates, and leading the Sixers together, some might have you believe that the team is on the verge of a major collapse.

But, according to Joel Embiid, he predicted the spread of narrative years ago.

“I predicted years ago that the media would try and drive us (Him and Ben) apart and I was right.”

For months now, there have been doubts about their fit together. Rumors and reports have indicated the Sixers may be ready to give up on the pairing, despite a lack of any real evidence suggesting it.

Long story short, there has been a narrative of doubt spreading regarding the relationship and future of Embiid and Simmons. With all of it going on, the two have said and done all the right things — but one has to think winning would silence all the noise.

With a record of 34-21, good enough for 5th in the Conference, the team hasn’t exactly been performing to standards. If they turn things around before playoff time, they might find the world singing a different tune about them.
