Damian Lillard shocked the basketball world last night when he demanded a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers. While the move had been rumored for quite some time, no one ever expected Dame to pull the trigger, out of loyalty to the Blazers. But Josh Hart took notice and immediately got to work on Twitter.

On Twitter, Josh Hart jokingly said hi to Damian Lillard a little while after the news of Dame’s trade request broke. A few hours after that, he asked his former Villanova teammate Mikal Bridges to reach out to him. Hart was trying to recruit the two stars to come play for the New York Knicks.

Hart was clearly joking, something he has been known to do from time to time. Hart is one of the funniest players in the NBA and uses his social media accounts to stir up some controversy and humor online for fans and analysts alike. But Hart does have a history with both of these players.

Damian Lillard To The New York Knicks?

Josh Hart does have a history with Damian Lillard. The two played together in Portland over the last year, before Hart was eventually traded to the New York Knicks at the deadline. Hart clearly enjoyed his time with Dame, as he wants to play with him again.

As for Mikal Bridges, he and Hart played together during their time at Villanova. However, one has to imagine this deal is not going to go down, simply because Bridges has become the centerpiece of the Knicks’ city-based rivals, the Brooklyn Nets.

Damian Lillard has been linked with a move to New York, but it would be to play for the Brooklyn Nets. Miami and Brooklyn are the two options for Dame, with Miami being a strong first preference.
