Kanye West Posts Jumpman Logo On Instagram, Wants To Meet Michael Jordan

3 Min Read

Kanye West appears to be making moves to link up with Michael Jordan and squash their beef. The iconic rapper initially had a good relationship with the NBA legend, but everything changed in 2015, when Kanye jumped from Nike to Adidas to launch his Yeezy label.

After that move, he sent a big message to Nike executives and Jordan in his song ‘Facts.’ At the end of 2015, Kanye claimed, “Yeezy just jumped over Jumpman,” which didn’t sit well with His Airness.

A couple of months ago, Kanye revealed that Jordan wasn’t happy with his words and to this day, he hasn’t forgotten West for his remarks

“Jordan still won’t meet with me. I’m trying to meet with Michael Jordan. I’m like, ‘It’s a song, man.’ Michael Jordan said this thing like, ‘Why y’all acting like Virgil [Abloh] made me hot? These shoes is hot.”

Ye, who dropped his long-awaited album ‘Donda’ in 2021, apologized to Jordan in 2016, explaining he took a shot at a Nike executive, not him.

“I’m sorry Michael Jordan I love and respect you,” West wrote on Twitter. “My beef was with [former Nike CEO] Mark Parker. I respect you so much!”

Now, Kanye is trying to reunite with the six-time NBA champion, sharing his logo on Instagram, agreeing with Marcus Jordan that they should meet to squash the beef and start a new chapter in their lives. Recently, Marcus proposed a meeting between Kanye and his dad on DJ Khaled’s Instagram, and Kanye liked that idea.

“Let’s make that convo happen,” Marcus wrote, tagging Khaled. “Kanye West and pops.”

Knowing that MJ constantly takes things personally, it’s unclear if he’ll change his mind on Kanye and will agree to meet him. A collab between the Yeezy and Jordan brand faces would be incredible. Jordan is a businessman and perhaps this option could convince him to at least talk with Kanye.

Yeezy has earned a big portion of the market since Ye left Nike and joined Adidas. Jordan is arguably the most iconic shoe brand of all time, so we know a collab between these two would be huge for the sneaker community.
