Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Sends Message To Bucks Before Game 1: “I’m Thrilled Milwaukee Is In The Finals…”

2 Min Read

For the first six seasons of his storied NBA career, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was a star for the Milwaukee Bucks, where he averaged 30.4 points, 15.3 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game on 54% shooting. It was a relatively short stint of his career, but where the journey all started for the basketball legend.

So when he picked against the Bucks to make the 2021 Finals, many were surprised and even hurt that he wouldn’t show some more faith in his former team.

For a while there, it looked like Kareem would be proven right.

But now that the Bucks are in, and just four wins away from the Championship, Kareem has walked back from his previous stance, and is rooting (and hopeful) for his former team to bring home the title.

The Bucks haven’t won a Chip since 1971 — when KAJ was still just a sophomore in the league.

To win now, when nobody thought they could do it, would be a miraculous and incredible moment for the franchise.

Of course, they still have a lot of work ahead of them if they want to make that dream their reality. Behind the support of Kareem, Giannis and the crew will have to play to near perfection to knock off a fiery and talented Suns team.

No doubt, it will be an interesting journey to behold, and a lot is on the line for those involved.
