Shannon Sharpe Says He’d Trade Kyle Kuzma For J. Cole

2 Min Read

Kyle Kuzma is a player who was once viewed as an exciting scoring forward. He took a lesser role with the Los Angeles Lakers due to the presence of superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but his sacrifice paid off, as he managed to win the 2019-20 championship with the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, the 2020-21 playoffs weren’t good for the Lakers, as they got eliminated in the first round by the Phoenix Suns. Kyle Kuzma didn’t play up to his usual standards, and many people have suggested that the team trade him this offseason. In a recent video, analyst Shannon Sharpe jokingly suggested that he’d even trade Kyle Kuzma for rapper J. Cole, who notably played abroad in Rwanda for a short period of time this season.

Shannon Sharpe is clearly suggesting this in a humorous manner. Kyle Kuzma is still a decent player who perhaps needs a change of scenery to achieve his potential. While he ended up winning with the Lakers, he did not do as well on an individual level, though there is something to be said about his defensive improvements while being on the roster. Hopefully, Kyle Kuzma can either bounce back with the Lakers, or find his way to a situation that fits him better.
