Karl-Anthony Towns Responds To Whether He Or Rudy Gobert Would Be Better On The Golden State Warriors

2 Min Read

With the best shooters on the planet, positive vibes, and a winning mentality, playing with the Golden State Warriors must be a whole lot of fun.

But have we ever stopped to think about who should?

While everyone may want to play for them in their heart-of-hearts, some stars are better suited for it than others. And in the case of Kal-Anthony Towns, he made it known to the Reddit community that he would make a great fit with the Dubs, even more so than his colleague, and reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert.

u/AccountForQuestions: In a purely hypothetical situation which player would be a better fit for the Golden State Warriors. Rudy Gobert or Karl Anthony Towns?

KAT: It would be me. Not a knock on him, but I feel like they’re just one of the best three-point shooting teams to ever be assembled and to put me on that team with my ability to shoot I think that it’s gonna be pretty hard to guard everybody.

It’s hard to argue against KAT’s logic here. Unlike Gobert, Towns has the ability to stretch the floor, which would make for a killer offense on the floor with other lethal shooters.

Gobert is much more of a traditional big, whose value comes from rebounding, shot-blocking, and defense.

I guess it will just have to be a matter of preference because we are unlikely to find out either way.
