Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best centers in the league, though he is likely to play the PF position after the Minnesota Timberwolves acquire Rudy Gobert. He is well-known for being an elite 3PT shooter, which is rare at his size. This past season, Karl-Anthony Towns averaged 24.6 PPG, 9.8 RPG, and 3.6 APG, while shooting 41.0% from beyond the arc.
Recently, Karl-Anthony Towns revealed that he has been dealing with a non-COVID illness, and only started to walk again on Saturday. He also revealed that he’s down to 231 pounds. The star big man did note that it “feels good” to be back out on the court though, and it is clear that Towns is ready to hoop again.

Hopefully, Karl-Anthony Towns is healthy now, and it is absolutely unfortunate that he had to deal with this issue right before the beginning of the season. However, it is good to see him healthy, and hopefully, this illness does not end up affecting the start of his season.
The Minnesota Timberwolves Are An Elite Western Conference Team
The Minnesota Timberwolves made the playoffs last season after advancing through the play-in tournament. They ended up losing to the Memphis Grizzlies in six games in the first round, however.
With that being said, it is clear that the front office was sold on what they saw from Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards in the postseason. They made a win-now move for Rudy Gobert, and there’s no doubt that they are confident that their current team can go far in the playoffs.
Karl-Anthony Towns will obviously be key for them. He is the longest-tenured player in the franchise and is widely viewed as the leader of the team. Towns will need to play at an All-NBA level for the team to succeed, and he seems primed for an elite season next year.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have the talent to go deep in the Western Conference, with three All-Star level players in Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert, and Anthony Edwards. They could surprise many people, and they are definitely one of the elite teams in the West.
