2x NBA Champion Kawhi Leonard is entering the 2021 postseason with enormous expectations.

After a failed campaign with the Clippers last year, all pressure is on for Kawhi to make amends and lead them to a deep playoff run.

So with the 2021 postseason just days away, Leonard got the chance to speak to the media about what it will take for him and his club to find success at the highest level.

“It comes down to being disciplined. And things you can’t control, like being healthy,” Leonard said when asked what separates championship contenders from the pretenders, per Mirjam Swanson of the Southern California News Group. “The things we can control is basically defense, discipline and just being able to stay focused on the details of the game.”

The Clippers have everything you could want in a title contender. They have star-power, depth, and a Championship coach in Tyronn Lue.

Still, there remains significant doubt that the Clippers can make the Finals this year. Their history as a franchise and questionable chemistry between the players has many thinking they’re doomed.

But so long as the Clippers remain vigilant and disciplined, they stand a chance against anyone. And it will be interesting to see how far they go.
