There have long been concerns about the Philadelphia 76ers two superstars being able to play together. Some of those concerns were absolutely valid: Ben Simmons is a non-shooter, and Embiid isn’t the best floor spacer, though passable for a center. However, with the addition of Coach Doc Rivers, and the rejuvenation of Tobias Harris the 76ers have cruised to a 7-1 record.
Kendrick Perkins was one of the believers in the young Philadelphia team, and he posted a Tweet talking about how good they were.
Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are working out just fine to me…right now they are the BEST TEAM in the Conference. They have all the pieces to come outta of the East and they are playing inspiring basketball.

Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are certainly doing well under Rivers’ tutelage. They have one of the best coaches in the game. Rivers was also the coach that brought out the best of Tobias Harris on the Clippers, so the reasoning behind his hiring is very valid. They are also at the top of the league, only tallying one loss so far. They have a promising young core, and Ben Simmons is looking better than he did with Brett Brown.
The 76ers have a bright future ahead of them. If they keep going like this in the regular season, they could enter the postseason being the best team in the Eastern Conference. While the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets will provide stiff competition, there is full faith in the team from Daryl Morey and Doc Rivers.
