Kendrick Perkins Says Giannis Antetokounmpo Is Giving Him ‘LeBron James With The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Vibes: “I’m Actually Afraid Of This Beast.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo seems to have unlocked a different gear since winning the NBA championship. He has been doing what a lot of the best players of all time do, making his dominance and ridiculously good performances seem mundane. Antetokounmpo currently has his Bucks team up 1-0 against the Boston Celtics and has peers like Kyle Kuzma suggesting that he is the best player in the world.

The best in the world title is something that LeBron James held for a long time, especially during his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs made the NBA Finals 4 seasons in a row, absolutely dominating the Eastern Conference in that stretch. And Kendrick Perkins seems to think that what Antetokounmpo is doing now is similar to what James was doing with the Cavs during the mid-2010s.

“How are you caught off guard when you’re facing the best player in the league in Giannis Antetokounmpo? It’s no reason to be caught off guard. You know what to expect out of Giannis. We know what to expect out of Giannis since the past 3 years… Right now, Giannis Antetokounmpo is giving me that LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers vibe.

“Any team that’s trying to come out of the Eastern Conference, I think Giannis is going to be standing in their way. I have the Celtics, I picked the Celtics winning this series in 7 and the reason I said 7 is because I’m actually afraid of this beast, this killa here in Giannis Antetokounmpo.”

Antetokounmpo is getting touted as the best player in the NBA by various legends, even Magic Johnson got in on the action. If he can beat the Celtics without Khris Middleton, it would be even more impossible for anyone to dispute that he is indeed the King of the Eastern Conference now. If Antetokounmpo wishes to go down as one of the greatest ever though, he will have to continue performing at this level for the next few seasons.
