Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant had a rather perplexed reaction to sportswriter Dan Le Batard’s rather controversial comment where he compared Tyler Herro and Tyrese Maxey.

Speaking on his The Dan Le Batard Show, the analyst offered his take on the Herro to the Portland Trail Blazers situation.

“Herro is better than Maxey, he’s just whiter than Maxey.”

To which KD replied:

“He’s what?”

Here’s Batard’s take on the whole scenario:

Dan Le Batard believes Tyler Herro is the best player Portland would get in a trade for Damian Lillard

The case for Herro being the best that the Blazers could get, and the subsequent comparison to Maxey also saw him get some brickbats from fans on Twitter, and now KD is the latest entrant to the discussion with his response.

Does Tyler Herro To The Portland Trail Blazers Make Sense?

Much of the offseason news in the league is about Damian Lillard and his trade request from the Blazers to the Miami Heat, which is in limbo as Portland isn’t too keen on what the Eastern Conference powerhouse has to offer.

It’s clear they are looking at the future and while Herro is one of the names almost definitely a part of the deal, the Blazers do have players who fit the bill as Herro.

There’s no doubt that the young guard is brilliant for any side he plays for, but with the team already comprising of Shaedon Sharpe, Scoot Henderson, and Anfernee Simons, Herro would mean clogging the team with a ball-dominant star.

Recently, Miami Heat inside Greg Sylvander predicted that the Heat would have to give up a massive trade package for Lillard — one that includes Herro, and Duncan Robinson, along with significant draft compensation.

Miami Heat Receive: Damian Lillard

Portland Trail Blazers Receive: Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, Four First-Round Picks, Three First-Round Pick Swaps

This isn’t a bad trade, but the question is whether the Heat are trading away depth for a bonafide superstar. But they do need a big move if they intend to win a championship, and only time will tell if that’s sufficient enough for Portland.
