Kevin Durant has made a name for himself by flaunting his extraordinary shooting prowess throughout his NBA career. But even for KD, getting back into the rhythm after an injury is tough.

It was quite obvious during his first game back since injuring his ankle. Durant had a 0-7 start against the Minnesota Timberwolves. During the postgame conference, the Slim Reaper talked about the frustration he felt after missing seven straight shots to start the matchup.

“It’s frustrating, but I’ve been in this place before, had slow starts before,” Durant said. “It’s all about figuring out how to make it. A couple of those shots, though, I definitely was rushing, trying to get back at once.”

Durant further talked about the reason for not getting off to a good start in his return.

“Yeah, I was just telling the guys in the locker room,” He added. “It was hard for me to get sleep today. It was hard for me to stop thinking about the game. Sometimes you want it too bad. And then you come out and start playing, you start rushing and start taking uncharacteristic shots.”

Kevin Durant struggled a lot in the first half of the game. So much so that he even changed his shoes at halftime after a 1-8 shooting performance.

But that didn’t have a huge impact on Durant’s shooting slump. The two-time NBA champion finished the game with a 5-18 shooting performance. Although he was 4-10 in the second half, it’s still astronomically bad for Durant’s standards.

Can Kevin Durant Win The Third NBA Championship Of His Career?

After a failed stint with the Brooklyn Nets, the pressure on Kevin Durant to win an NBA title outside of playing for the Warriors is at an all-time high.

Many believe that if Durant fails to win a ring with the Phoenix Suns, his legacy in the NBA will take a huge hit.

After all, he has the likes of Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton on the roster. So, Durant certainly has good support around him. The Suns are currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 41-35 record.

If Durant can stay healthy throughout the playoffs, there aren’t many obstacles in his way of winning the third NBA Championship of his career.
