Kevin Durant Remembers One Of His Duels With Kobe Bryant During Mamba Day: “Miss You My Boy!!!”

2 Min Read

8/24 has become ‘Mamba Day’ since Kobe Bryant sadly was killed in a tragic helicopter crash two years ago. Ever since that moment, everybody has made sure to pay homage to the Los Angeles Lakers legend, and just one day after his birthday, Kobe got a day to celebrate his legacy on and off the court.

Exactly today, a lot of people have sent messages to Kobe. While NBA fans celebrated him on Tuesday, some players decided to dedicate some words to him on his Mamba Day. Shaquille O’Neal made a big tribute to him, LeBron James wished him a happy birthday with a big Instagram post, and the latest name to join this ‘trend’ is Kevin Durant, the player that Kobe never got to figure out.

After a fan shared an old picture of Kobe guarding KD at the post, the player reacted to it, describing exactly what happened and how he gave Kobe buckets for not guarding him properly.

“This was a bucket, bean stance was too open and gave me a hook shot going middle. Miss you my boy!!! Lol,” Durant tweeted.

One fan reacted to it by sharing the video, confirming that everything Durant said was true.

Kobe Bryant was one of the best players in NBA history. A terrific scorer that didn’t hesitate to take difficult shots, who could take games over if he felt nobody else would help him win, and more. He was a generational talent, and everybody who watched him play and faced him on the court can confirm that.

Durant is part of that group, and he didn’t hesitate to remember the Black Mamba on his day. Amid all the drama surrounding him and the Brooklyn Nets, it’s good to see that he can still send positive messages on social media. That’s the Kobe effect, for sure.
