Kevin Durant was one of the most recruited players from the 2019 NBA free-agent class. Durant was going to leave the Golden State Warriors in 2019, after winning 2 NBA championships with the franchise. Durant was expected to join the Knicks, but in a surprising move, Durant ended up joining Kyrie Irving on the Brooklyn Nets, a move that did not go down well with Knicks fans.

Last night, Kevin Durant helped lead the Brooklyn Nets to victory over the New York Knicks. After the game, Durant spoke about the disdain New York Knicks fans hold over him for his decision to snub them and join their direct rivals. He asked reporters to imagine the kinds of Tweets and messages he has been receiving from Knicks fans since snubbing them.

“Imagine the tweets I’ve been getting since choosing the Nets by Knicks fans.”

Durant hasn’t found the success that he was looking for with the Nets yet. Durant’s first proper season playing with the Nets saw him getting eliminated in the second round by eventual champions Milwaukee Bucks. This season, due to injuries and team chemistry issues, the Nets currently find themselves in the play-in tournament, looking to get into the 7th seed.

The Nets have Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving available to play all their games going forward, barring any injury concerns. Their duo is considered one of the best in the NBA and can be counted on to put on a great performance regardless of which team they are facing off against.

The Nets are going to pose an outside threat to all the teams in the NBA playoffs right now. And if they can get Ben Simmons back at some point in the playoffs, the Nets have to be considered one of the favorites to win the NBA championship.
