Kevin Durant Uses LeBron James And Damian Lillard To Fire Back At ‘Sensitive’ Label

Kevin Durant asked a big question on why he's the only superstar called 'sensitive' when more players fire back at criticism.

Kevin Durant definitely doesn’t like it when people label him as ‘sensitive.’ He’s expressed that before, and even after explaining why that’s not cool for him, fans, analysts, and others keep calling him that.

The 2x NBA champion used the example of three NBA stars who are constantly standing up for themselves on social media, wondering why he’s the only one being called ‘sensitive.’

“I don’t see this talked about — I see Damian Lillard, I see LeBron [James], I see Draymond [Green], I see lots of great players in our league speak up on social media, but they don’t get that ‘sensitive’ rep,” Durant told Melissa Rohlin of FOX Sports last week.

KD added that it all started after he decided to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and join the Golden State Warriors in 2016, a decision that had a huge impact on his life and career.

“C’mon, you know what happened. Because I went to the Warriors,” said Durant. “People still don’t like that part of everything. People want to silence me for some reason. I mean, I can’t pinpoint exactly why.

“But it’s just like I’ve seen it, it’s not just a ‘me’ thing, like, there are a lot of players amongst a lot of sports that interact with their people on Twitter, Instagram, socials, and I don’t hear the ‘sensitive’ rep about them.”

NBA fans changed their perception of Durant after that decision, but the player knew he had to live with that. Damian Lillard has been constantly criticized for his loyalty to the Portland Trail Blazers, and even though he’s made it clear he wants to stay with his team as long as possible, he could leave Portland soon.

LeBron James is called LeGM, LeCap, and LeSuperteam, among other things, on social media, and he doesn’t hesitate to fire shots at those who try to bring him down. KD is more active than these two, but that doesn’t seem like a good reason to hold Durant to a different standard.

Kevin Durant Says He Doesn’t Want To Sit Down And Talk With Charles Barkley

The Phoenix Suns superstar is tired of dealing with all these things and doesn’t even want to make amends with those who criticize him. During a recent conversation with reporters, Durant stated that he has no intention of sitting and talking with Charles Barkley, one of his biggest nemesis in the media.

He’s already used to fighting with fans when they throw shade at him, but the situation with Chuck appears to be different. Perhaps a championship this season will change the narrative for KD, who is expected to lead the Phoenix Suns to the promised land after a failed tenure on the Brooklyn Nets.
