Kobe Bryant’s 1999-00 Championship Ring Auctioned For $206,080

Several years ago, Kobe Bryant gave his parents two identical rings from his 1999-00 NBA Championship, the first of five he won throughout his career.

However, he had a bit of a rift with his mother and she tried to sell hers. Bryant sued her to prevent her from selling that ring and more memorabilia but eventually allowed her to do it, reaching $280,000 for the items.

And now that the Lakers’ legend has passed away and the demand for memorabilia is at an all-time high, the collector who bought the ring in the first place reached out to Goldin Auctions to see how much he could get for that ring.

Needless to say, it didn’t take long for the ring to find a buyer and reach an impressive sum of $206,080, and there are likely going to be many more items finding a new home in the upcoming months:

“It’s also being reported that the ring that belonged to Kobe’s father will also be getting its own auction. If we had to guess, that ring will get the same amount, if not more since there are now less on the auction market,” the report claims.

Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest and most influential athletes of all time and his tragical and sudden passing is something must NBA fans still can’t fathom.

His memorabilia has been moving at record prices lately and that trend isn’t likely to stop, considering his wife Vanessa has been very active to preserve his memory by keeping his initiatives alive and raising funds for the less fortunate.

Bryant passed away on January 26th along with his daughter Gianna and seven other people in Calabasas, California; but his legacy will live on forever and fans from all over the world will continue to pursue those kinds of items.
