  • Storm Hilary hit California on Sunday
  • Kyle Kuzma dished out a wild take on Twitter as to what caused it
  • Upon receiving some backlash, Kuzma ended up deleting the tweet

Kyle Kuzma, just like many in the U.S., was paying close attention to the situation in California, with Hurricane Hilary, which had been downgraded to a Tropical Storm, hitting the state on Monday. Kuzma caused a bit of controversy, though, as he had a rather bizarre take on why it was happening.

“California getting hurricanes is proof y’all need to stop littering or the govt just be trying things out.”

One really wonders what was going through Kuzma’s mind when he decided to put this out there.

It really seems like he is indicating that the government somehow caused this to clear the litter on the streets. That’s a wild conspiracy theory, or it could also be possible that he was joking.

Whatever the case, the 28-year-old decided to delete the tweet as he was probably getting a fair bit of backlash over it, and understandably so.

Fortunately, no deaths were reported due to the storm. To go with it, though, California was also rocked by a 5.1 magnitude earthquake, which led to this whole thing being dubbed “Hurriquake.”

Kyle Kuzma Wants To Turn Things Around For The Wizards

Kuzma certainly made the right career choice to become a basketball player, as he may not have had a great deal of success had he chosen to be a comedian or a meteorologist.

The former Laker had the best season of his career in 2022-23, as he averaged 21.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game. The reward for Kuzma was a four-year, $102 million deal from the Washington Wizards this offseason.

Kuzma sent a strong message to Wizards fans after signing that $102 million deal, stating that it’s time to turn the ship around.

The Wizards have missed the playoffs in four of the last five seasons and finished with a 35-47 record for the second season in a row last time out. With Jordan Poole as his new co-star, Kuzma will be hoping for a change in the team’s fortunes.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
